Who you are contracting with

When you book a class you are entering an agreement with UK China Performing Arts School CIC, a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17401083, registered office Suite RA1, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU.

These terms apply to all class bookings made through our booking pages, and to private and online tuition.

Booking and fees

Courses are booked and paid for as a block for the term. The fee for each course is shown on the booking page at the time of booking and includes all sessions listed for that course.

A place is confirmed when payment has been received. Where a payment plan is offered, the place is confirmed on the first instalment and the remaining instalments remain due.

Examination entry fees, uniform and costume costs are charged separately and are shown before you commit to them.

Missed classes

Fees cover the place on the course, not individual attendance. A session missed by the student is not refunded and is not carried into another term.

Where space allows we will offer a catch-up in another class of the same level. This is offered as a courtesy and cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel a booking within 14 days of making it and receive a full refund, unless the course has already started. If it has started, we refund the fee less the sessions already delivered.

After 14 days, fees are refunded only where a student cannot continue for medical reasons, on production of a note from a GP, and are refunded pro rata from the date we are told.

If we cancel a session, we will reschedule it or refund that session. If we cancel a course before it starts, we refund it in full.

We may move a class to another venue in the same area, or teach it online, if a venue becomes unavailable. Where the change is substantial you may cancel the remainder of the course and be refunded pro rata.

Behaviour

Students are expected to arrive on time, follow the teacher’s instructions and treat other students, staff and the venue with respect.

We may ask a student to leave a class, or withdraw a place without refund, for behaviour that puts other people at risk or repeatedly prevents a class from running. We will speak to the parent or guardian first wherever it is possible to do so.

Children, collection and medical information

Responsibility for a child under 18 rests with the parent or guardian outside class times. Children must be collected promptly at the end of a class.

You must tell us in writing about any medical condition, injury or access requirement that affects how a student can take part, and keep that information up to date.

Photography consent

We ask for photography and video permission separately from your booking, and separately again for anyone under 18. You are not required to give it, and it does not affect the place.

Permission can be withdrawn at any time by writing to [email]. We will stop using the material and remove it from anything we control.

Liability and governing law

Dance carries a risk of injury. Students take part at their own risk and must not take part against medical advice. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
