Who we are
UK China Performing Arts School CIC is a not-for-profit dance school in London. We teach Chinese classical and folk dance, ballet, contemporary and K-pop — to children from age 3 and adults at every level.
As a Community Interest Company, we have no shareholders and pay no dividends. Any surplus is reinvested into our teaching and our work with the local community.
What we believe
Community — We work with schools and community organisations to broaden access to dance, as our resources allow.
Quality — We teach to the CFA and ISTD graded syllabuses, delivered by qualified teachers.
Heritage — We keep Chinese dance traditions alive in the UK and make them open to everyone, whatever their background.
What we teach
Chinese classical & folk — Chinese Folk Dance Association (CFA) graded syllabus. We are the official UK arm of CFA.
Ballet — ISTD syllabus, exams at every grade.
Contemporary — Modern technique with Chinese influence.
K-pop — For teens and adults. Often a first step into dance.
Beyond the studio
Our students take part in showcases, competitions and community cultural events — building performance experience, teamwork and confidence, and giving local audiences a way into dance.
We also work with schools and community organisations to broaden access to dance, as our resources allow. As a Community Interest Company we report on this work to Companies House every year.
